Our 30 Day Limited Returns Policy includes customer first use of manufacturer warranty coverage (if applicable) for any factory packing shortages or item defects, and is intended to help keep our costs -- and your purchase prices -- at moderate levels. We're happy to help, if you need assistance in obtaining factory service, or out-of-warranty parts & repairs as available, for current model products purchased from Arkatents Outdoor Gear. [Models and brands do change, and we strongly suggest separate purchase early in product life of spare frame set components, tent fly sheets, and similar critical and high wear items, in the event such unique parts become unavailable from a manufacturer in the future.] Credit card and PayPal charges post from Intermountain Resources dba Arkatents USA / Amble Outdoors -- store name may be abbreviated on your billing statement.
Popular outdoor recreational items (light-duty fabric shelters and general use inflatables in particular), of any grade or price, do require specific prep, in-use care, and regular maintenance -- to avoid early material degradation, to assist better outdoor safety practices (AKA risk aversion), and to protect your new product factory limited warranty. The fabric and screen shelters we sell are for light to moderate duty -- when properly prepped, erected, and maintained -- and are NOT for permanent or season-long installation, high winds (except some 4-season models), or any severe weather use.
To begin, read the factory instructions and product safety warnings before any use. RETURN LIMITS & WARRANTY PROCESSING DETAILS (subject to change)...
1. These terms apply to all purchases (web, phone, mail, store) from Intermountain Resources DBA Arkatents Outdoor Gear / Amble Outdoors, and will not be superseded by any other company correspondence or oral representation, without exception. Orders shipped, changed, cancelled, removed, or otherwise adjusted will be updated on-line and via e-mail only (phone verification of order updates or changes is not provided -- call, or e-mail with valid return address, for order status if required).
2. Sales only, with factory limited warranty on most new items: We do not offer or provide rentals, rent-to-own programs, leasing, loaners, field tests, pawn brokerage, free home trials, try-before-you-buy, consignments, lay-aways, retail price matching, On Approval sales, or any similar gratis or partially paid use, storage, testing, or transfer of any of the outdoor goods and related items we sell, at any time. Our Terms of Sale including Returns Policy apply to all valid purchase payments, of any kind.
3. UNOPENED shipments -- see Exceptions below -- from us to within lower 48 states, lacking any broken seals or other obvious external damage, may be returned intact within 30 days of purchase date (send via insured FedEx Ground, UPS ground, or DHL ground -- other carriers will be refused) for credit or refund, less any shipping & insurance charges (including initial free or reduced shipping offers) and a 5% (five percent)* excess handling & re-stocking fee. A Return Authorization number is required for processing. Orders manifested to carrier (tracking number has been issued) and subsequently cancelled will be charged the same 5% fee. [If you purchase a similar item of equal or greater value from us within 10 days of your valid return we'll normally waive any 5% return fee.] All return, replacement, or warranty shipping & insurance is at buyer's expense. Shipments refused at delivery, lacking a valid RA number, found damaged or short upon return, or returned as undeliverable will be processed per below.
[*Holiday ornaments are non-returnable after purchase: No refunds or exchanges for these special seasonal items, other than insured shipping loss/damage claims subject to normal carrier processing; see Exceptions below for related pre-purchase information. Unauthorized returns of ornaments will be charged a minimum 50% -- fifty percent -- excess handling fee and deduction of all standard service & shipping charges.]
4. OPENED BUT UNUSED goods -- see Exceptions below -- where the color, trim, or basic finish doesn't agree with you, but not worn*, tried, seam sealed, or setup, and with no debris or damage of any kind (including pole, fabric, and/or hardware degradation from any source), in complete new condition for sale including all original parts, paperwork, and packaging, may be returned within 30 days of purchase (shipping & insurance at buyer expense -- see above), for refund less a 10% (ten percent) excess handling & re-stocking fee. A Return Authorization number is required for processing. [If you purchase another item of equal or greater value from us within 10 days of your valid return we'll normally waive one-half of the 10% return fee.] Returns found at inspection to be worn, damaged, defaced, spotted, altered, incomplete, and/or in any other way degraded (including out-of-box items normally covered by factory warranty), or not authorized by us for return, will be shipped back to buyer freight collect and/or charged a minimum 15% (fifteen percent) excess handling fee, at our sole discretion. If a factory defect or error is believed found, we'll be happy to help with repair or replacement under warranty, via the manufacturer.
[*Backpacks may be worn briefly, without loading, to test basic sizing -- normal return processing conditions, S & H and re-stocking fees apply, per above. Closeouts, used goods, and some other items are non-returnable -- see Exceptions paragraph below. See Gear 101 for access to pack use & fit tips, before purchase.]
5. ITEMS USED, for ANY length of time (tested, worn, tried, altered, and/or seam sealed -- including initial fabric shelter indoor set-up by customer), are then covered by the manufacturer warranty only if any, and are not returnable (no refunds or exchanges). If a defect (poles, fabric, hardware), factory shortage, or other error is believed found, we'll be happy to help with applicable service under warranty, via the manufacturer. Parts and repairs are also often available for most out-of-warranty items, via the manufacturer and some third-party service depots. 6. Exceptions/non-returnables (all sales final for these items, no refunds or exchanges, use factory warranty if any for direct service via manufacturer): Used, soiled, damaged, and/or incomplete goods; component failure or parts shortage found during prep, set-up, or other out-of-box use; products showing evidence of pet, yard, or household debris; damaged in transit (report for claim with carrier at delivery, or as soon as possible if concealed -- also call us, for assistance with claims filing); all Coleman and/or Exponent brand products; certain over-sized items -- see product pages; closeout, discontinued, prior model year items; rebate offer items; resin ornaments; optics; fueled stoves & lanterns, hygiene & personal use products (skin care, shower bags, towels, garments); sleeping bags, liners, blankets, pillows, hostel bags; dry bags and safety gear (including life vests, flotation cushions, air bags, signals & markers, paddles, oars); vehicle roof cargo bags & hard shells; all types of air inflatables and related parts; games; hats & helmets; opened shrink wrapped, blister pack, or similar poly-sealed items; after-market fabric seam coatings and ORM-D class goods and items so treated; repair kits; demo or rental units; auction items; all eBay and affiliated sales; factory blems/seconds; items for charity or resale; custom, quantity, or special order items; commercial, government, or institutional use items; items destined for outside lower 48 states (including APO/FPO and international orders); items lacking any original paperwork, blank warranty cards, instructions, factory documentation, or consumer hang tags; items lacking a valid Arkatents e-receipt; any item lacking our valid Return Authorization and/or beyond our designated return time limit.
[Tents, yard shelters, backpacks, car-top stows, rain covers, dry bags, and other items treated with water repellent -- by factory and/or user -- are subject to many variables in prep & handling, and are NOT guaranteed by us to be waterproof in any conditions; see GEAR 101 via Index for related information, before purchase.]
7. A Return Authorization (RA) number is always required (call or e-mail with order number and reason for return), and must be on the exterior of the return package along with a copy of your e-receipt/order paperwork.
Note: Do not put anything in the original package(s) specifically authorized for return other than all original contents (attach sales e-receipt copies to shipping carton exterior only -- no insertions). Any variations will void your previously issued Return Authorization (also see above) from Arkatents.
8. Out-bound, warranty, replacement, and/or return shipping charges including insurance are not refundable, and will be deducted from any return credit amount, except in cases of our gross service error (i.e., sent wrong item), where we will use company check to reimburse reasonable ground return shipping and insurance charges (or issue credit towards a future Arkatents store purchase if so desired) that are not otherwise posted to your credit card account. Free Shipping/Delivery does not apply to returned orders -- outbound S & H will be deducted from any subsequent credit, plus re-stocking fees. Third party handling or other excess return charges are not refundable. Factory warranty parts & service times are estimates, and can not be guaranteed (order early for best results, especially during pre-holiday periods).
IMPORTANT: Use United Parcel Service or FedEx Ground for any authorized return, via insured ground service only. We will not reimburse any outbound or return shipping fees. If any item is refused by addressee at delivery, or otherwise undeliverable by carrier, you will incur additional costs for their default return service, which will be billed to your account. Double check your shipping address while ordering, to avoid delays and extra shipping & handling charges. Again, make authorized return shipments via insured United Parcel Service or Fedex Ground only. [Other return carriers will be rejected, without further recourse.]
Reminder: Our basic shipping costs and handling charges, plus re-stocking fees, will be deducted from any valid return credit or refund. Any subsequent or special charges from carrier information corrections or other non-standard handling will be charged and/or billed as indicated ($15.00 minimum), at our sole discretion. Authorized return items received here in less than new condition or incomplete will be sent back to customer freight collect and sold, without further recourse or any refund, and subject to excess handling fees noted elsewhere herein.
9. We are not responsible for carrier delays, transit loss or damage, FOB claims, schedule changes, or address correction charges -- please properly pack (and insure with delivery confirmation) any authorized return for best receipt at inspection. Allow 2-3 business days for approved returns settlement to your charge card account after store inspection and re-stocking.
10. Model color tint & trim and other minor features may vary from factory batch to batch, and/or degrade over time, without loss of normal recreational use, and are not grounds for any non-standard return or replacement. For tent PACKAGE specials we may substitute similar tarp and loft sizes, based on best stock-on-hand. Max dims (dimensional sizes) are not adjusted for variables in set-up, heat, humidity, inflation, and/or handling, and do not always reflect use-able size which may vary. Shipping weight will usually exceed the minimal packed weight by 10-15%.
11. Warranty coverages (which may be limited) are for verified factory defects or initial parts shortages only, not normal wear & tear (including UV light degradation), acts of nature (winds, hail, tree branches, severe storms, animals as examples), buyer's remorse, commercial or institutional use, after-market or custom changes to product, or any user mishap or mis-use (including product damage or other loss stemming from user inexperience or unfamiliarity, omitted instructions, improper product prep/maintenance, or other set-up error). No loaners or credits for any service/repair time or related expense/loss. Abnormal use or abuse, as we determine at inspection or by other authorized factory depot, will void warranty. Boat warranty coverage is ON THE WATER and does not cover any transport, loading, livery, grounding, compression, heat, cold, freezing, UV light, improper inflation, and/or impact damage to any part of hull or related hardware. Warranty limits may vary from state to state. Please see brand web sites for their specific product specs and warranty terms, before use/purchase -- warranty coverages usually apply to original owner only and are not transferable. KEEP YOUR e-RECEIPT(S) and ORIGINAL PACKAGING & documents including shipping label, plus all contents: These are usually required for any service under warranty. [For transaction research or document retrieval more than 60 days after date of purchase we charge $12.50/hr, plus copy & mailing fees, with a 1 hour minimum; we are unable to replace or re-produce lost or damaged manufacturer statement of origin documents, rebate coupons, or warranty registration cards -- please retain all original sales and ownership records including delivery labels & packaging and warranty information in a secure location, to avoid product service delays or local watercraft registration denials.]
12. Manufacturers provide final disposition for all warranty related issues (also see our general Terms page), including repairs to (or replacement of) covered products. See brand web sites for specific warranty information, before purchase.
13. Determination of product condition for warranty processing is made via store inspection, at our sole discretion, if not previously directed to the manufacturer or other authorized service depot.
14. No cash refunds for gifts or other forwarded 48-state shipments, equal like-kind exchange only or future purchase credit less normal re-stocking fees, on in-stock Arkatents items as available; all replacement shipping & insurance at customer expense -- see above for related processing information, and other specific limitations. We do not service, accept, or exchange products purchased from other stores. [Holiday gift items purchased November 15th through December 31st will otherwise be serviced per above, until the January 30th following, via paying customer only.]
15. Late or Dishonored Payment Penalty: Cost of goods and shipping with a $25 (twenty-five dollar) late payment fee plus 1.5% monthly interest (18% per annum) and all collection costs will apply for any dishonored payments on valid orders. 16. All terms & conditions of sale/service and product specs & availability subject to change or amendment without notice.
